Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Piney Green!

2025 has proven to be a challenging year in many ways, but throughout it we continued to cherish the sanctuary that is Piney Green. We've continued to enjoy many happy hours in our living room, complete with piano sessions, and we've managed to have friends over perhaps a little more often. As usual early in the year we enjoyed fire pit time, especially when our ancient azaleas were in bloom.

And we captured a few special moments, like this majestic egret walking through our front yard:

and days when our giant apostle irises were all simultaneously in bloom:

Perhaps more than any of the other landscaping in our yard, our irises remind us of our dear friend Joe Brooks. Joe passed away this year, but his mark on Piney Green endures. Joe was a landscape architect who created wonderful landscape designs for so many homes in Central Florida, including many in and around our neighborhood. He played the principal role in helping to update the landscape of Piney Green while still respecting the elements of the original palette. Thank you Joe!

As December was rolling in, our friend Louis Bokar once again made our Christmas tree look better than ever:

And we added some extra lighting outside to spread a little holiday cheer:

As 2025 comes to a close, we are looking forward to a reset in 2026. We have some new adventures and life changes planned that will allow us to travel more. But we will also be spending plenty of time at Piney Green, with many little touch up and tidy up projects in store, and many more special moments. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and may 2026 bring you peace and joy!
